Staff Positions

  • Worker

    Intake Worker manning the 1300 line, and office workers.

    Possible Renumeration:

    • Dependant on funding; related to hours allocated for the position
    • Usually starts in volunteer capacity with costs reimbursed if funding permits – best to seek local funding through council or fundraising.

  • Team Leader

    • Appointed to provide leadership and take responsibility for a support group OR a special project e.g. marketing, lobbying, training, resource development, etc.
    • May share or delegate facilitation of a support group in order to share the load, or to train up others with that aptitude or ambition.
    • Usually a volunteer role with costs reimbursed if funding permits – best to seek local funding through council or conduct a fundraising event.

  • Regional Co-ordinator

    • Appointed by the State or National Manager to provide co-ordination, training and support to team leaders and workers in their region.
    • Be available to provide referral assistance, suicide intervention, advocacy for difficult cases, and secondary consultation on complex issues.
    • Responsible for promoting DIDDS in the region, recruiting potential workers and team leaders, networking among professionals and representing DIDSS in various regional partnerships and initiatives.
    • May also lead one group or represent DIDDS in a locality.
    • Dependent on funding – hopefully a paid position, probably part-time.
