What's it cost to save a life?
$8500.00.............That's what it cost's to us.
That's what it costs to keep a did's group operating in your area for 12 months.
That's what it costs to save a man's life.............$8500.00.
Dads in Distress are looking for sponsors to continue this valuable work. Perhaps you can help, or maybe you can pass this on to a local businessman, an organisation, community group or an agency near you who may be able to help.
We know and so do you there are many dads out there feeling hurt, devastated, powerless, resentful, depressed, angry, gutted, sad and often suicidal. We can help and so can you. $8500.00 is not a lot to save a man's life. 5 males a day suicide in this country. A young separated male is 10 times more likely to die by suicide than through a road accident. With a divorce every 10 minutes and that's only the registered marriages. We and you know that dads in distress are the highest at risk group.
The RTA has spent nearly $1 Million erecting a fence around the Mooney Mooney Bridge on the F3 to prevent further suicides there. That's just one area. How many lives could we have saved with that sort of money?
What does it cost Australian industry every year in lost productivity from good men going through the trauma of separation and divorce? How many people do you know in your own circle going through the trauma? How many people do you know who have just dropped off the scene due to a marriage break-up? How many kids do you know caught in the middle?
The Federal Government has helped us out by giving us emergency funding of $40,000.00. Thanks to Mr Ross Cameron MP, Mr Ken Ticehurst MP and Mr Luke Hartsuyker MP. We need to show them the community is behind us. We need to start raising our own funds.
We need your help.
I am tired of hearing of funerals for good men devastated by the loss of their marriage and the constant denial from having a relationship with their children. I am tired of hearing from mums, dads, brothers, sisters in grief from the suicide of their loved ones. I am tired of hearing from kids who just want to love both mum and dad and want the fighting to stop and to spend time equally with both.............Peaceably.............
Dids is not about who was right or who was wrong. The only right we are interested in is the right for kids to have a relationship with their dad and allow dad the right to have the same. dids is about giving dad back to their kids. Kids need both mum and dad in their lives. We help dads navigate the future by understanding the past.
You don't drown by falling in the ocean. You drown by staying there.............
$8500.00 will get a group up and running in your area for 12 months. It will save lives and mend many. It will be run by volunteers, big hearted men who have been through it and are willing to step forward and help another. The money will pay for training, brochures, telephone, travel, supervision, counselling etc. A detailed budget will be given to genuine interested parties. The sponsor will get naming rights and their logo or name will be added to all our advertising, promotion, brochures, etc in the area. The sponsor will also receive regular reports on the status of the group and the lives saved and the lives mended through our work.
Dids has been operating 10 years now. We have opened groups in Qld, NSW, ACT, WA and Vic and are being asked to set up in all states and overseas. In the past 15 months dids has fielded over 500 inquiries a week, as well thousands of men have attended our meetings and functions. What we do works. It's new, it's innovative and it works. Our ultimate goal is that we no longer need to exist but sadly right now we do. And now we need your help to continue.
Please pass this on to anyone you feel may be able to help.............The cost of a man's life to us is $8500.00.............
Can you help us?
