Terry Valentine - Chairman
Terry has a diverse background in project management along with some marketing and general management of construction, traffic systems and telecoms. Terry has a degree in Engineering, Masters of Business Administration and finance qualifications along with 10 years deployment of software applications and IT hardware.
Terry has been involved in community organisations from committee member of a local youth club (in his teens), SES (founding member for a branch for a new town), Rotary (holds the position of President of a Victorian Club 2014-15) and now DIDSS. Terry first became involved with DIDSS in 2010 with his own relationship breakdown (which saw it go through to the High Court in another country along with many Australian decisions).
Terry facilitates at DIDSS meetings when required (Melbourne South East) and sees his involvement in several areas.

Pete is a single dad to a teenage daughter and has spent the last 14 years working in family breakdown and family law; initially in his own case and later as a campaigner for reform and in the support of both mums and dads unfairly separated from their children.
Pete's professional background includes various leadership roles across the US, Europe and Australia in business development and as a leading consultant in organisational psychology; helping FTSE, Fortune and ASX 100 organisations to become great employers. His roles have included working in the private, not for profit, self employed and public sector environments.
Pete's greatest personal passion is working towards providing all children the best possible start in life, developing supportive services to minimise damage caused by family breakdown and, in particular, addressing unique risks faced by men and boys that prevent them from reaching their full potential.
Pete also helps support the International Mens Day global leadership team.

Marty is a single dad who has spent the last 20 years working in various Queensland law firms, and in more recent years, working in the petroleum industry. Marty studied law at the University of Southern Queensland after completing a Diploma of Law, Workplace Health and Safety, and numerous other certifications in the legal and WHS industries. Marty’s professional career has included the private and public sectors, and self employed consultancy. His directorship interests are focused on equality in the legal system and proper recognition for disadvantaged fathers.

Terry has a background in Commerce, Banking, Gas & Oil, Education and Transport. Terry has a Bachelor of Commerce (Deakin University), Diploma of Education, PRINCE2 certification, is a chartered accountant, and is currently completing a MBA at Deakin University.
Terry is interested in supporting the group, fundraising and trying to grow its corporate structure.

John is a highly skilled project executive and a qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria. He holds Bachelor degrees in Law, Arts, Economics and a Master of Commerce.
John is passionate about community service, providing pro bono legal services to the Salvation Army. He has been a volunteer at various times with World Vision, Oxfam, Big Brothers Big Sisters and has served in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. John first became involved with DIDs a decade ago as a volunteer facilitator. He has a strong interest in family law.
John joined the Board in July 2016.
